FireCore-ägaren uttalar sig om helgen

1

To FragBite,

I am just going to answer these questions you have put in front of me with the truth but before I do I want to make something quite clear.

I am the owner of FireCore and FireCore #4 was organised by NeiL_M who asked me to used FireCore brand to get sponsors and for me to run it, which I happily agreed to as I have a passion for this industry. Neil had pretty much not arranged or organised anything apart from sending an email to Kyoto Lounge saying he wanted to book the venue, the rest got left to me to deal with 2 days before the LAN event. I had to arrange for 10 extra PCs, switches, network cables, power cables, power extensions and monitors. Over the course of the weekend I had 3 hours sleep due to me yet again arranging apartments etc and after I payed for a full apartment for 2 nights i had 2 hours sleep in a bed on Friday night then on saturday night I slept in a car to let people have a bed for the night, the generous guy I am. So overall i had a pretty bad weekend. I also told the vast majority of teams/players before the event went live that Neil was dealing with all the money and that I was simply running the event admin wise.

1. I was not aimbotting I had wall hack on and off throughout the game vs ColdGame, I did not cheat to try and win and yes it was for fun and the people who were watching behind me seemed to find it funny. I did not try to hide it and at the time most of ColdGame seemed to find it funny too, they still won 16-2 and also my team had 2 players who had not played CS in 6 years, 1 player had not played in nearly a year. I did not cheat against any other team. I know this is unprofessional and I appologise if anyone has taken great offense to these actions.

2. As for prize money, UK LAN events have always been based on how many teams turn up. We had 4 teams not turn up to this event; but this was not the main source of the problem. Neil had let other people either play for free or at a discounted price. This of which he failed to tell me. After the LAN had finished ColdGame had came 2nd place and Free Agents came first. The prize money was going to be £750 + Mice for 1st and £250 + mouse pads for 2nd, this me and Neil discussed prior the final match being played. After the match we went to ColdGame to give them their money when Neil told me to give them £350 but winning total would be £400 (I got told that FRY773 got robbed and that they had no money to pay the extra £50 entry fee as Neil told me they had already paid £150 on paypal).

After I tried to explain to Neil what he had just done was not what we had discussed, Free Agents then found out how much prize money they were getting, just £50 more than ColdGame. After Free Agents found out this they were very angry too and confronted Neil, Neil then realised what he had done but did not know what to do about it and would not face talking to ColdGame without the backing of several people. So I decided to go with him incase he got beat up, I don't know why because I couldn't care if he did as he has ruined my company name (Well maybe I have contributed to this due to my cheating). We went to talk to ColdGame and Neil couldn't explain what he did wrong so I did and I think my exact words were "Neil has fucked everything up". I explained that he had for some reason wanted to give ColdGame £400 which we couldnt do due to Free Agents actually winning the event and I had told them what myself and Neil had discussed before the grand final in regards to prize money, being £750 for first and £200 for second.

Now the £200 was to be paid via bank transfer/paypal and the reason for this is that Neil had used the money he received in deposits from teams/players to pay for his house deposit as he has just moved to London for his new job. I do somewhat feel bad in a way for telling everyone this but I will not stand by and people call me a liar and ruin my company name over someone who is not part of FireCore and from now on will never ever run or have any connection with a LAN again and I made that clear in front to everyone who was still at the event at the end of the night after I had a major argument. So we have the £200 which was to be sent to ColdGame but of course they did not trust Neil so I wrote a contract which said neil will pay £200 to one of the players and I had a witness counter signed it which was a guy who worked at the LAN centre. There was nothing much more I could of done at this point, GeT_RiGhT was not bothered about the money situation and keiz seemed fine with it too. Spozy told me he did not trust Neil but he trusted me and said thank you for helping as much as I can.

After ColdGame had signed and they had left, I had to deal with iGamerz, a team who came 3rd at the LAN and expected money also. Money which we did not have to give. I was using someone who was translating into French the situation and what had gone on. They would not listen and were demanding money, telling me to take £50 from each team and give it to iGamerz to make £100 first place and yes I could of done but would mean less for first and second, at the point in time I was so angry from the shit Neil had dropped me in I began to lose my temper. After arguing for almost half an hour I gave iGamerz £100 of my own money just to get them to go other wise I would of done stuff I would of regretted.

I went downstairs back into the LAN centre to pack my stuff up at 01.30 AM and bearing in mind I had 3 hours sleep over the weekend and a 4 hour drive back home and work at 8am for a 12 hour shift I was getting more angry and upset. I couldn't lash out and hurt people with my anger as that isn't the right thing to do, instead I got so angry I broke down, could not fight my tears and all this because of someone elses fault and that my company has pretty much went bust now and the ideas and plans I had in the near future I more than likely would not be able to go through with.

At the end of the day Neil is to blame and he dealt with the money. I have tried my best to resolve the situation as best as I could and I believe that a lot of people can back me up on this who attended the event and they all knew that it was Neil to blame and not myself.

If you have any other questions please just email me.

Regards

Karl Batson
