Team9 blir en del av Meet Your Makers

1

A lot of Speculation has accumulated within the eSport Community in the past few months regarding the Future of Team9 Cooperation. Its fair to say that it all started with the Departure of the highly successful Team9 Norway Counter-strike team back in early January, which then followed with the release of the till recently undefeated Battlefield 2 Swedish Squad and some of the Quake 4 players.

We as an organisation our now in the position to give you the details why we decided to do what some may say was drastic action on our part.
The explanation for the departure of the Norway Counter-strike team was due to the reasons stated in an interview released after the announcement, that the Players were coming to the end of there contract on January 1st and even though negotiations were being held most received better offers.

Following the Norway Counter-strike teams exit less than a month down the line we officially announced on team9.se that we would be releasing our Battlefield 2 and Quake 4 Squads, minus two Quake 4 players who would stay.
The motive for there departure can only be explained by mentioning that despite the fact that the success of the Swedish Battlefield 2 Powerhouses was remarkable, popularity in Battlefield 2, though it is growing rapidly still lacks the real high profile reputation that Counter-strike 1.6 does. While this is the case Sponsorship becomes a real issue.

It was then discussed within the organisation what would be the next step, to bring in another Counter-strike team which as stated previously would consist purely of Swedish Players, a Counter-strike Source Team perhaps or even both.

The choice could not be made likely and a number of areas needed to be considered before any type of decision could be reached, every angle was looked into but what was the final outcome, could the Organisation come to a conclusive decision as to where the Future lies in Team9?

We did come to a decisive decision; Team9 Organisation would like to officially declare with some sadness but yet admiration at the future prospects, that as of 26th February 2006 the team9 establishment will be shutting its doors.

With this, the soon to be former team9 organisation will merge with mYm better known as MeetYourMakers and persist to build on there Future in the eSports community.

Team9 Organisation would like to thank the Fans for all there Support over the years and Hope you will continue to support us at www.meetyourmakers.com
