Tentpole regarding the new H2k-team

Svensk version

You've been an official team for just a couple of days now. Naturally, you wonder, how long have you been able to play together?

We've been playing for some three days together.

What do you feel has worked well and what parts need further improvements?

Snajdans microphone has been bad and Gux aim has been good. No, honestly I can't tell what works well and what isn't right now, because we hardly had time to "feel each other out" yet.

Could you estimate how much, if anything, separates you from the other top teams skill-wise?

Haha, I'm a little worried I'll feel like an rusty old man when it's time for match-ups, however I believe we could perform as well as any team.

What can we expect from H2k at IOL and what expectations do you as a team have on yourself? Will you be satisfied with a worse placing in the view of your poor preparations, or would anything except a first place be a disappointment? Perhaps you only see the IOL finals as a test?

For me anything but a win won't be enough, sometimes not even that would be enough if I had played poorly! If you keep feeling content you won't get far, I believe. Where we will place ourselves is rather hard to tell, either at the top or the bottom I'd say.

Is it an advantage or disadvantage to play tournament matches so close in time to the team's start-up?

An disadvantage because right now we're far from where we could be, skill-wise, but it's always fun with matches!

SpawN said in a statement that you've missed the competition. For how long have you been thinking about a comeback before you joined the team and have you had any offers apart from H2k?

Of course you miss the competition, that's the only reason that I have kept playing for so long as I have. When I after about 5 months opened CS for the first time, I looked around for any possibilites for playing competively. I had a couple of offers but none weren't really any good, I'd say, I hope no one resents.

You left SK rather unceremoniously in August last year after two years in the team. Salary disputes were said to be the reason, but any statement that could enlighten the situation never showed. Is that something you'd like to explain here, half a year later? What do you feel about your time in SK in general?

I don't know what SK wants to call it but I had big issues regarding how some things were taken care of and I don't think the management appreciated what I had to say about this matter. Regardless if I were kicked or not, I didn't want to stick with that, I'm happy that that chapter is over now.

At the time of your leaving you stated that there weren't any organization in the world that could meet your demands. What has changed since then? Does this mean you from this time on only play for fun, which seemed to be the case earlier in your career when your stepped down from number one team fnatic to Begrip, or will you eagerly go for the top again?

There's still no organization in the world that could meet those demands that I would have to be able to live normally and that's the reason for why I will work full-time on the side. How much I will be able to play, how skilled I will be and for how long I could keep this up I don't know yet.

During that six-month period when you were a free agent, or inactive, what have you been doing and how much Counter-Strike have you been playing? Have you kept track of the scene and/or watched HLTV whatsoever?

After some vacation with my close ones I started looking for a job and it didn't take me more than 2 days to get my first job interview. That was really the only thing I needed so after a week or so I was in for some good old-fashioned working.

I didn't play a second for some 5 months and that's not something that I'm just saying. I just didn't have any motivation, I enjoyed escaping from CS for a while. I followed some of the big events and watched some matches on HLTV, but I didn't really prioritize that. However, it's always fun to watch good matches!

You played together with GeT_RiGhT, who won twice awards as the player of the year in 2009, during a short period in SK. If you look back at it now, while having his journey of success in team fnatic in mind, was it the right decision of SK to let go of him without really giving him a chance to acclimatise and learn to know his teammates properly?

It was definitely the right decision to make at the time. People are writing so much nonsense and speculations, sometimes stuff like that aint working when the fans have no insight whatsoever and therefore can't understand.

That he would go on and be successful in another environment was no real surprise, considering how much talent he actually possess.

You've earlier been playing in different clans with a totalt of nine players from fnatic and SK. Does that motivate you to play a little extra than usual, thinking that you might be even more eager to win over your old teammates?

Haha, the other day I actually thought about how many clans I've been playing in over the years and that just got me to feel even older... Many teams and many players as previously stated, but it's not any direct difference in playing against friends in comparison to playing people you don't know, except for the fact that it can be a tad more fun to bang of a nice shot on a guy you know, simply because you know how he will react.

While on the subject of motivation. During your time in SK, people talked a lot about you being lazy and not practicing as much as the rest of the top teams, and as a consequence you didn't win as much events as you could've done. What do you think about these claimings and how do you look on the praccing in general? How serious will H2k be with that particular part?

I think we for the most part pracced enough with SK. We started to maximize our training a while before the events and maked sure to correct things we felt could be done better, you shouldn't have to play every day if an official game is nowhere near the current date.

Everything isn't about praccing and maximizing your training either, I've won events with very little practice and the reversed, playing shit despite having trained a lot prior to the event.

Many people raised their eyebrows when you were officially announced as the new H2k team. The lineup itself was kind of unexpected while the roster also seemed to be greatly based on which players were available on the market at the time. What factors do you consider to be pointing in your favor for success and what's saying that you won't be troubled by social problems, which seem to be a common issue these days?

In essence, we consist only of previously known top players whom in one way or another lost their spot in their old team, so we'll just have to make the best out of it :D.

I don't think we'll have any problems with people acting bad towards each other. It feels like it's a part of the past and the majority of the team aren't any youngsters.

For a long time it seemed like the aiming-type of player moddii would get a spot on the team, with FYRR73 going in the opposite direction. Was it due to contract commitments that transfer never occured, or was moddii never even in the picture?

moddii was in the picture for a while and then he wasn't. I can't give you any good answer to why it went that way, that's someone else's subject to deal with.

You've earlier had the eminent tacticians walle and cArn by your side, how does it feel to now be led by Snajdan, whom you faced a lot of times during his time in camp...sorry...Blank? What does it mean for the teams playing style in general, if you would compare to how you played in fnatic and SK?

I think it's fun to be playing with big CS-profiles who I don't already know or have previously played with. It's hard to compare playing styles as of now, since I barely myself know how we are playing. Snajdan is a good leader and it will be interesting to play with this team.

What's your different roles in the team? For example, who is the the first guy to enter a bombsite and who is always the last guy alive, or is it too early to determine?

Personally I've gone from being an all-defensive player a couple of years ago, to running around all confused. It works well sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't :).

As long as I don't have 0 frags I don't have any problems with sacrificing myself for the team and draw some attention, hihi!

Snajdan gotta be the guy who's always the last one alive anyway...

Last but not least: now when it isn't a hot potatoe anymore, can you admit that you actually saw GeT_RiGhT's hand coming up but just chose to not smash it?

I couldn't be arsed to give the little buster a highfive, he didn't deserve it! Or?

Thank you for the interview! Any shoutouts?

Come and cheer for us at IOL in the weekend but please, don't be too fast on judging a gang of rusty old players.

I wanna thank the fans I didn't knew I had. I've been reading some comments and appearantly some people think that I've done something useful within the gaming scene. That stuff is always fun to hear!
